Aomori (青森市, Aomori-shi, Japanese: [aoꜜmoɾi]) is the capital city of Aomori Prefecture, in the Tōhoku region of Japan. It's one of Japan's 60 core cities and the core of the Aomori metropolitan area. Aomori Nebuta Matsuri is a famous festival performed from 2–7 August annually and is listed as one of the 100 Soundscapes of Japan by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment.
