Stay
About the destination: Modern and old, past and present go hand in hand, all the time. Whether you're in Rome for 3 days, 3 weeks or 3 months, be ready to step into the world’s largest open air museum. Rome will charm you and it will hardly leave you unmoved. It will surprise you, as it has so much to offer to any visitor, and its beauty has merely been slightly obscured by the passage of time. Whether you spend your time sightseeing, or lounging in cafés watching the world go by, it will be your turn to star in your very own Roman Holiday. If you can plan to stay for as long as a week, you won't run out of things to do and you'll still feel like you're leaving too soon.

About the destination: Assisi is a town and commune of Italy in the province of Perugia in the Umbria region, on the western side of Monte Subasio. It's a super medieval city with narrow and charming streets. 4. Częstochowa
Stay
About the destination: Częstochowa is a city in southern Poland on the Warta River. It has been situated in the Silesian Voivodeship and was previously the capital of the Częstochowa Voivodeship. However, Częstochowa is historically part of Lesser Poland, not of Silesia. Częstochowa is located in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland; It is 13th most populous city in Poland. It is the largest economic, cultural and administrative hub in the northern part of the Silesian Voivodeship. Currently the city is one of the main tourist attractions of the area and is sometimes called the little Nuremberg because of the number of souvenir shops. The Black Madonna of Częstochowa, housed at the Jasna Góra Monastery, is a particularly popular attraction. Throughout the centuries, many buildings have been erected, most of them now have status of tourist attractions and historical monuments since Częstochowa was established already in the Middle Ages. Among those attractions are old townhouses and the urban core of the city centre.

5. Lourdes
Stay
About the destination: Lourdes is a large town in the French Pyrenees. It is a global center of Marian pilgrimage, receiving hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Catholics believe that the Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, appeared 18 times at the Grotto to a young girl, St Bernadette Soubirous.Originally a sleepy market town on the road to the spas of the Pyrenees, Lourdes has grown into the largest Marian pilgrimage center in the world. The town has two sections: the international portion by the river, consisting of the spiritual area containing the Grotto and churches, known as the Domaine or the Sanctuaries, and the French portion, centered around the Marketplace and Hotel de Ville.Lourdes is a pedestrian friendly city with several pedestrian only streets and it is very easy to get around the town center. It really is worth walking and exploring. Don't miss the nightly candlelight procession in front of the Basilica and around the main square, with singing, prayer and a rosary said in many languages.

6. Santiago de Compostela
Stay
About the destination: Since medieval times until the present day, Santiago de Compostela is considered a major destination for pilgrims. This holy city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Located in the far northwest of Spain, 100km north of the Portuguese border, Santiago is the capital of the autonomous region of Galicia. The city is home to Spain’s most famous church. La Catedral is majestic, a harmonious blend of styles and eras beneath two towering towers. Just inside the main entrance is the Pórtico de la Gloria, one of the most outstanding examples of Romanesque sculpture in Europe. Near the cathedral, there is the Museo do Pobo Galego, a museum of the Galician people, housed in the Monasterio de Santo Domingo, which contains replicas of ancient Celtic ruins. Nearly half of Santiago’s population is made up of lively students eager to have a good time. Bars and pubs can be found throughout the medieval streets of the old town and along Calle Santiago de Chile. The nights in Santiago de Compostela have a special light. The moonlight turns the town into a timeless scene where landmarks highlight the city’s most beautiful and nostalgic side. And for those looking for atmosphere, Santiago’s nights are endless.

7. Fátima
Stay
About the destination: Since 1917, Fatima has been a sacred city. It's said that the Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children. The Apparitions of Mary, transformed the city into one of the largest centres of Marian devotion in the world. Two massive churches were built over a vast 1km-long esplanade where the virgin appeared, the Basilica de Fatima and the Igreja da Santissima Trinidade, with a seating capacity of 9000 pilgrims. Every year, people of all nationalities and beliefs come here to prove their faith and ask for miracles. Fatima has become a symbol for Christian Portugal and the town’s essence is its Basilica. Inside the basilica the bodies of two children who claimed to have seen the Virgin are buried; the tombs of Jacinta and Francisco can be visited. The epicentre of the town is the Sanctuary of Our Lady Fatima. The major manifestations of devotees occur on May 13, when the Farewell Procession takes place. But the most beautiful sight is on the night of the 12th of May during the Candlelight Procession which sees thousands of visitor carry lighted candles. Around the town there are plenty of lodgings and hotels to accommodate the pilgrim masses as well as restaurants and shops, mainly of religious merchandising.
