The Icy Strait is a strait in the Alexander Archipelago in southeastern Alaska. The strait separates Chichagof Island to the south and the Alaska mainland to the north. The strait is 64 km (40 mi) from its west side at the intersection of the Cross Sound and Glacier Bay to its east side at Chatham Strait and the Lynn Canal. The two largest islands in the strait are Pleasant Island and Lemesurier Island. The Cape Spencer Light is an important former lighthouse and currently active aid-to-navigation. Icy Strait Point is Alaska Native owned-and-operated, with all profits directly supporting the community of Hoonah, Alaska’s largest Native Tlingit village. The Municipality and Borough of Skagway is a first-class borough in Alaska on the Alaska Panhandle. As of the 2010 census, the population was 968. Estimates put the 2019 population at 1,183 people. The population doubles in the summer tourist season in order to deal with more than 1,000,000 visitors each year. Incorporated as a borough on June 25, 2007, it was previously a city (urban Skagway located at 59°27′30″N 135°18′50″W) in the Skagway-Yakutat-Angoon Census Area (now the Hoonah–Angoon Census Area, Alaska).

Tracy Arm is a fjord in Alaska near Juneau (outlet at 57° 46' 40" N 133° 37' 0" W). It is named after the Secretary of the Navy Benjamin Franklin Tracy. It is located about 45 miles (72 km) south of Juneau and 70 miles (110 km) north of Petersburg, Alaska, off of Holkham Bay and adjacent to Stephens Passage within the Tongass National Forest. Tracy Arm is the heart of the Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness, designated by the United States Congress in 1990 Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness contains 653,179 acres (2,643.32 km2) and consists of two deep and narrow fjords: Tracy Arm and Endicott Arm. Both fjords are over 30 miles (48 km) long and one-fifth of their area is covered in ice. During the summer, the fjords have considerable floating ice ranging from hand-sized to pieces as large as a three-story building. During the most recent glaciated period, both fjords were filled with active glaciers.

The attractions here are numerous and enticing and will make you want to spend more than just a day. Juneau offers the opportunity to explore some of the best that Alaska has to offer while still being attached to civilization. You will find plenty of charming eat at, interesting places to visit, and don't forget the shopping.

Mange anser det som den mest britiske byen i Nord-Amerika. Grunnlagt i 1843 som en Hudson Bay Trading Post, har dens koloniale fortid blitt godt bevart og er i en konstant kjærlig restaurering. Men ved siden av sin strålende koloniale fortid, er Victoria også stolt av sine gamle røtter. Victoria er fremdeles i dag hjemmet til Lekwungen-folket, som også er kjent som Esquimalt og Songhees-nasjonene. Deres kultur og historie er fremdeles en stor del av byen.
