Bahía Blanca Argentina

Bahía Blanca is a city in Argentina, situated to the south of the Buenos Aires province in the pampean region, but only a few kilometres from the border with the Patagonian region. It has a deep-water commercial port on the Argentine Sea. It is the capital of the homonymous party. The city has established itself as one of the most important commercial, cultural, educational and, primarily, sports centres of the country's interior, which also boasts significant museums and libraries, and its tourist infrastructure includes architectural circuits, walks and parks. It serves as a hub of transport and communications between the economic flows of the southwest of the Buenos Aires province and the Río Negro valley. Thanks to its land, sea and airport infrastructure, it establishes relationships at regional, national and international levels. According to data from the 2010 census, the party of Bahia Blanca has a population of 301,531 inhabitants: subtracting the town of Cabildo and rural population of 2,430 people, the balance of 299,101 inhabitants correspond to the greater Bahía Blanca, the seventeenth urban conglomerate of the country. Although the city of Bahía Blanca is located almost 10 km from the Argentine Sea, it is conurbated with other cities and coastal towns, among them the port of Ingeniero White that constitutes the natural outlet of the agricultural production of the pampean region. There are two national universities: National University of the South (UNS) and National Technological University (UTN) and a third in formation. Its flag was created by Mateo Brossy, a boy of only 11 years (at that time).
