• Pointe Venus Lighthouse. A black sand beach and clear blue water near a fishing reef.
• Botanical Garden/Gauguin Museum. Located in Papeari, on the west coast, is the botanical garden.
• The Olivier-Breaud Golf Course.
• Arahurahu Marae.
• Museums. Visit the Museum of Tahiti and the Islands which boasts a rich collection of ancient artifacts and reconstructed historical scenes. The Black Pearl Museum and the Gauguin Museum are also worth a visit if you're looking to escape the heat.
