Playa Blanca is situated in the southern part of Lanzarote and has recently established itself as the third major tourist spot on the island. Recognized multiple times for its cleanliness, this peaceful and serene area is perfect for family relaxation. Playa Blanca offers a diverse range of hotels and a thriving service environment, including bars, restaurants, shops, and one of the best marinas in Lanzarote. Nearby are the Papagayo beaches, where white sand and crystal clear water emerge from the cliffs. Along the Playa Blanca promenade, on the edge of the old town, you'll find a variety of restaurants, shops, and bars, as well as on the streets parallel to the promenade. Another area worth visiting is the marina, filled with high-quality services and recently constructed. In this area, you'll also find a new shopping center for your shopping needs. Regarding the beaches, the popular Playa Dorada and Playa Flamingo, with their fine white sand and proximity to the main hotels in the area, are worth mentioning. However, the Papagayo beaches are undoubtedly the standout. A collection of coves with fine white sand that will surely delight visitors. These coves can be accessed by foot or bike, but the distance is considerable, so it's recommended to drive (a "toll" per car will be charged as it's a nature reserve). Just a few minutes from Playa Blanca, you'll find some of the island's most iconic locations, such as Timanfaya National Park, La Geria, Salinas de Janubio, El Golfo (the green lagoon), Los Hervideros, or the charming village of Yaiza. You can also visit the town of Las Breñas, where you'll have a stunning view of Playa Blanca and Fuerteventura in the distance. From Playa Blanca, you can also take a boat trip to explore the nearby island of Fuerteventura, a journey of about 25/35 minutes depending on the ferry you choose. The vast beaches of Corralejo, with their white dunes and crystal clear water, make a visit to Fuerteventura well worth it.
