About the destination: Niagara Falls is located in the Niagara Frontier region of New York State. The Niagara Falls is made up of three sections. The large Canadian falls, also known as the Horseshoe Falls, are separated from the American Falls by Goat Island. The American Falls are further separated from the narrow Bridal Veil falls by a small island at their southern end. Each side of the falls provides a unique viewpoint, and it's recommended to visit both sides for the best experience. The American side offers a side-on view of the American Falls, with an observation point just 20 yards from the top of the falls. While the Canadian side is often praised for its superior view, the American side is a State Park, the oldest in the country, and efforts have been made to maintain the natural beauty of the area and limit commercialization, unlike the Canadian side. Those who wish to experience the falls in their natural state will appreciate this side of the Falls. Additionally, there are several attractions designed to provide different experiences of the falls, such as the Cave of the Winds, the Maid of the Mist, the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center, and the option to take a helicopter ride over the falls. Consider staying overnight to see the night view of the Niagara Falls, which is just as stunning.
