Hai Phong Vietnam

Haiphong is the third largest city in Vietnam, located near the port of Hanoi. It is one of the major tourist centers in the country. The city's crescent-shaped 19th-century core is nestled between the curve of the Tam Bac River and the loop of the train tracks. North of the main artery, Dien Bien Phu, you can find wide avenues and colonial architecture. To the south lies the merchants' quarter, which is currently a rundown area of street markets between Trang Trinh Street and the market, Cho Sat; just below this is Tam Bac Lake. A ten-minute walk east along the south bank will lead you to Me Linh and Den Nghe Temple. Haiphong is home to over 60 villages with 20 different types of vocational training, primarily traditional handicrafts. Many of these villages have been established for hundreds of years, such as Bao Ha, known for lacquer sculpture, Nhan Muc (Vinh Bao) for dry puppet making, Tien Lang district for sedge mat paving, Chinh My My Dong for rattan weaving, Pingtung (Thuy Nguyen district) for metal casting and forging, First Islamic for terracotta, and Tien Cam (An Lao district) for bamboo and rattan.
