Vinh is a city in Vietnam. It is situated in the northern part of the country and serves as the capital of the Nghe An province. On September 5, 2008, Vinh was elevated to a Grade I city, making it the fourth city in Vietnam to achieve this status after Hai Phong, Da Nang, and Hué. The city has a population of 490,971.
